Grey clouds, rough water, one question — and then the sky cleared for the walk back.
Matthew booked us for a proposal on the beach in front of Marriott’s Ocean Pointe in Palm Beach Shores, on Singer Island. Saturday, October 3, 6:15 PM. The sky had other plans: heavy clouds over the water and a strong shore break. It didn’t matter. He went down on one knee right at the waterline, and her hands went straight to her face.
The first frames are the ones that count — Matthew on one knee, the ring out, the ocean loud behind them. Then the hug, and a long laugh that you can see in every photo after it. Shoes off, left in the sand. Nobody went back for them for a while.
As we moved toward the inlet, the clouds broke and the light turned gold. The concrete jetty was still wet, so it reflected everything — the two of them walking barefoot, the sun dropping behind the palms. We finished with the ring: her hand in his, a pink sky behind it. The whole session took about 45 minutes, and the gallery was ready a few days later.
