The ocean side of Singer Island faces east, so sunrise is when the sky does the work: soft color, cool sand and almost nobody around. For a sunrise proposal, Ocean Reef Park or your hotel’s beach both work.
At sunset the sun goes down behind the island. The light on the beach is even and flattering, and the Intracoastal side picks up the color.
Ocean Reef Park belongs to Palm Beach County, which requires a permit for professional photo sessions in its parks; marriage proposals are on the county’s list. Balloons are prohibited at Ocean Reef Park.

For sunrise, Ocean Reef Park or the beach behind your hotel: both face the Atlantic and are quiet early.
Ocean Reef Park is a Palm Beach County park. The county requires a photography permit for professional sessions, including marriage proposals, and asks for five business days to process it. Book at least a week ahead; the fee is set by the county.
