Engagement Photos in West Palm Beach & Jupiter: Best Spots, Timing & What to Expect

Couple in white outfits posing together at a waterfront promenade during a sunset engagement portrait session

You just got engaged, and now everyone wants to see the photos. Whether the ring is brand new or you have been engaged for a few months, an engagement session is the easiest, most fun way to celebrate this chapter and to gather images you will actually use, for save-the-dates, social announcements, or simply framed on the wall. If you are searching for an engagement photographer in West Palm Beach or Jupiter, this guide covers the best local spots, the timing that makes South Florida light look its best, what a session costs, and exactly what to expect on the day.

I am Felipe, the photographer behind The Love Pics. I live and shoot in Wellington and West Palm Beach, and I handle everything myself, the planning, the photos, and the video, so you get one calm point of contact from your first message to your final gallery.

The Best Engagement Photo Locations in West Palm Beach & Jupiter

Palm Beach County gives you a genuinely rare mix, ocean, palm-lined promenades, historic architecture, and quiet nature trails, often within a short drive of each other. Here are the spots I keep coming back to for couples.

DuBois Park, Jupiter

DuBois Park is my favorite all-in-one location north of West Palm Beach. In one session you get soft beach sand, a calm lagoon, palm trees, and a rocky jetty for a more dramatic shoreline look. It is easy to park, easy to walk, and the light near sunset is gorgeous. If you want variety without driving all over the county, this is the one.

Jupiter Lighthouse & Riverwalk

The red Jupiter Lighthouse is one of the most recognizable backdrops in the area, and the surrounding Riverwalk gives you water, boats, and warm evening color. Late afternoon into golden hour is the sweet spot here, the low sun keeps the lighthouse glowing instead of washing everything out.

West Palm Beach Waterfront & Clematis Street

Right in downtown West Palm Beach, the waterfront promenade along Flagler Drive gives you skyline views across the Intracoastal, docks, and open sky, perfect for that classic South Florida sunset frame. A block or two inland, Clematis Street adds a more urban, editorial feel with string lights and architecture if you want a second look in the same evening.

Palm Beach Island & Worth Avenue

If your style leans elegant and timeless, the island delivers, the Worth Avenue clock tower overlooking the ocean, tucked-away vias with Mediterranean arches, and manicured greenery. It photographs like a destination without the plane ticket.

When to Schedule: Timing Is Everything in South Florida

The single biggest factor in how your photos look is not the camera, it is the light. In South Florida, that means planning around two things: the sun and the heat.

Golden hour is king. The 60 to 90 minutes before sunset gives you warm, soft, flattering light with no harsh shadows or squinting. I build almost every engagement session around it. In summer that can mean meeting around 7 to 7:30 pm; in the fall and winter, closer to 5 to 6 pm. Sunrise is the beautiful alternative if you love an empty, quiet beach, fewer people, cooler air, and the same soft glow.

Beat the heat and humidity. From June through September, midday sun is brutal and humidity can undo any hairstyle in minutes. Booking early morning or late evening keeps you comfortable and keeps you looking fresh. If you are planning a fall or holiday-season announcement, August and September are ideal months to shoot, the light is warm, the crowds thin out, and you have your gallery in hand long before the holidays.

What an Engagement Session Costs

My engagement session is $350. That covers the full shoot at the location we choose together, direction and posing throughout so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands, and a gallery where you pick your 30 favorite edited images.

Here is the part that sets The Love Pics apart: every RAW photo from your session is delivered in under 24 hours. You are not waiting two or three weeks to see how it went. The morning after your shoot, you get the full set, you choose your favorites, and I finalize the edits on those. It means you can announce fast, and it means you are never left guessing.

Because I am a one-person studio, the person planning your session is the same person behind the camera and, if you add video, the same person filming. That keeps things personal, consistent, and easy to coordinate.

What to Expect on the Day

If you have never done a professional shoot as a couple, a little nervousness is normal, and completely fine. Here is how I keep it relaxed:

  • We plan ahead. Before the day, we lock in the location, the meeting time around golden hour, and any wardrobe questions, so you show up knowing exactly where to go and what to wear.
  • I direct the whole time. You will not be left standing there. I give simple prompts and small movements that create natural, candid-looking moments, walking, laughing, whispering, the real stuff.
  • We keep it moving. Most sessions flow through two or three mini-setups in one location so your gallery has variety, close-ups, wide skyline frames, and detail shots of the ring.
  • You get the photos fast. RAW set the next day, favorites chosen by you, final edits delivered right after.

Bring the ring cleaned, bring a second outfit if you want more range, and bring your person, that is genuinely all you need.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is an engagement session?

Plan for about an hour of shooting, timed to end right at sunset. That is enough to move through a couple of looks at one location without feeling rushed, while staying inside the best light of the day.

What should we wear for engagement photos?

Coordinate without matching exactly, think complementary colors and textures rather than identical outfits. Soft, solid tones photograph beautifully against South Florida beaches and skylines. A slightly dressier look for one and a relaxed look for the other reads great together. When in doubt, ask me and I will help you plan.

How soon will we see our photos?

You get every RAW image in under 24 hours, usually the morning after your session. You then choose your 30 favorites and I deliver the final edited gallery. That is standard on every booking, not a paid upgrade.

Do you offer video too?

Yes. Because I handle photo and video myself, I can capture a short cinematic clip of your session alongside the stills, ask when you book and I will walk you through the options.

Can an engagement session roll into wedding planning?

Absolutely, many couples book their engagement session first and then bring me back for the wedding. It is a great low-pressure way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day.
