We started before the sun was up — coquina arches, a clock tower and an empty beach.
Margo’s engagement session started at 6:55 AM on Friday, September 25, on the island of Palm Beach. At that hour the town is quiet and the light comes up soft over the ocean. We began at the clock tower at the ocean end of Worth Avenue, with its coquina stone arches and balustrades, and finished on the sand as the sun cleared the clouds.
The coquina stone does a lot of the work here: warm texture, arches that frame the couple and the sea behind them. He went down on one knee in the middle of the empty road, palm trees on both sides and the clock tower behind. A light blue dress, a navy jacket — colors that sat perfectly against the stone and the morning sky.
Then we walked down to the water. The sunrise came through the clouds in pink and gold, the wet sand turned into a mirror, and he knelt again — this time with the waves behind them. We closed with the easy moments: a long hug, a kiss in black and white, a piggyback down the beach, and a few portraits of Margo on her own by the rocks.
Thinking about a sunrise session? Early mornings in Palm Beach mean empty streets, soft light and the beach to yourselves. Everything you need to plan yours is on our engagement photography page.
