General questions
What should we wear for our photo session?
Choose outfits that feel like you, in colors that complement the setting rather than compete with it. Soft, solid tones and coordinated (not matching) outfits photograph best. Avoid very busy patterns, neon, and large logos. Once you book, we send personalized wardrobe guidance for your specific location and time of day.
What’s the best time of day for photos in West Palm Beach?
Golden hour — the hour just after sunrise or just before sunset — gives the softest, warmest, most flattering light, and the beaches and streets are quieter. Midday sun is harsh and creates strong shadows, so we plan around the light whenever possible.
What’s the best time of year for outdoor photos in South Florida?
October through April is ideal: lower humidity, soft light, and fewer afternoon storms. In the summer months (May–September) we schedule early-morning or golden-hour sessions to stay ahead of the afternoon storm pattern.
What happens if it rains?
Florida weather can shift fast. If the forecast looks bad, we stay in touch leading up to your session and find the next best window so your photos still get beautiful light.
Do we need a permit to shoot at parks or beaches?
Most public beaches and streets are fine for portrait sessions. A few gardens and managed parks may require a photography permit or fee for professional sessions. We’ll flag this when we plan your location so there are no surprises on the day.
How far in advance should we book?
The sooner the better, especially in peak season (October–April) and around holidays. For weddings, reach out as early as you can — popular dates fill up months ahead.
When will we get our photos?
Engagement galleries are delivered within 5 days. Wedding galleries and proposal or event video are delivered within 15 days.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes — a 25% deposit secures your date.
Do you travel? Where are you based?
We’re based in West Palm Beach and cover the Palm Beaches and beyond. We travel up to 30 miles for bookings over $300, and up to 100 miles for bookings over $500. Traveling from farther out? Just ask.
Proposal photography
How do you keep the proposal a surprise?
We work discreetly and often from a distance, blending into the setting so your partner reads us as just another person with a camera. Before the day we agree on the location, timing, route, and a small signal so we know the exact moment.
What’s the best place to propose in West Palm Beach?
Popular choices include Worth Avenue, the Intracoastal waterfront on Flagler Drive, Palm Beach Municipal Beach, Mounts Botanical Garden, and Peanut Island. The right one depends on your story — we help you choose. See our complete proposal guide.
Do you help plan the proposal, or just photograph it?
Both — depending on the package. We offer everything from photography-only coverage to full planning and luxury setups with decor. See Proposal Planning and the Luxury Proposal Package.
Do we get an engagement session too?
Yes — right after the proposal, while the excitement is fresh, we roll into a short engagement session so you leave with the moment and a set of couple’s portraits.
Can we add video of the proposal?
Yes. Our Proposal Photo & Video package captures a cinematic film of the moment, delivered within 15 days. See Proposal Photo & Video.
Engagement photography
How long is an engagement session?
Long enough to relax, try a couple of looks, and get a great variety of images — we keep it unhurried.
How many outfits can we bring?
Usually one or two works well. We’ll suggest looks based on your locations.
Can we bring our dog?
Absolutely — pets make wonderful engagement photos. Just check leash and access rules for your chosen location; we’ll help confirm.
Can we use these photos for our save-the-dates?
Yes — and since engagement galleries are delivered within 5 days, you’ll have your images quickly for save-the-dates and your wedding website.
Family photography
What’s the best time for family photos with young kids?
Golden hour usually overlaps with a good-mood window — late afternoon before dinner, or early morning. We keep family sessions relaxed and efficient so kids don’t get overwhelmed.
What should our family wear?
Coordinate, don’t match: a shared palette of soft, solid tones looks timeless. We send a simple wardrobe guide once you book.
Where do you recommend for family photos in West Palm Beach?
Beaches at golden hour, botanical gardens, and tree-lined historic neighborhoods all work beautifully. We’ll match the location to your family’s style.
Wedding photography
How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer?
As early as you can — popular dates book months ahead.
Do you offer a second photographer?
Yes — when your wedding calls for one, we can add a second photographer, charged separately.
When do we receive our wedding photos?
You’ll receive your complete edited wedding gallery within 15 days.
Do you photograph engagement sessions before the wedding?
Yes — an engagement session is a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day, and many couples include one with their wedding coverage.
Do you cover destination or out-of-town weddings?
We travel for weddings — up to 100 miles for bookings over $500. For weddings beyond that range, just reach out and we’ll work it out.
