How to Feel Comfortable in Front of the Camera

You do not have to know how to pose: you only have to move, talk and let me direct you. I’m Felipe from The Love Pics, and most people who tell me they hate being photographed leave with photos they love, because I give instructions the whole time.

Here is what helps before and during a session. See my family sessions.

Before the session

  • Wear clothes you already feel good in.
  • Eat something, drink water and arrive a few minutes early.
  • Tell me what worries you. If it is your smile or a side of your face, I plan around it.

During the session

I never say “smile”. I give you actions: walk toward me, turn, whisper something to your partner, lift the child. The best photos happen between poses, when you laugh because the instruction was funny. I show you a few frames early so you see it works.

Couples, families and kids

With couples I use movement and conversation. With families I use games for the kids, and the parents relax because the children are having fun. I direct in English and in Spanish.

What's included in a family session

  • Relaxed direction for kids, parents and grandparents
  • Up to 25, 35 or 50 professionally edited photos, depending on the session
  • Private preview gallery in under 24 hours; edited photos within 7 days after you choose your favorites
  • Premium gallery with print store, shareable favorites and instant HD downloads
  • Bilingual direction, English and Spanish

Family session pricing

Prices are before tax. Groups of more than 6 people add $45 per extra person. A park or county photography permit, when a place asks for one, is a separate fee set by that place.

  • Family Session — $295: 45 minutes, up to 25 edited photos. Immediate family or small groups.
  • Extended Family Session — $425: 60 minutes, 35 edited photos. The one most families pick: more groupings and more time for the kids to warm up.
  • Legacy Session — $695: 90 minutes, up to two locations, 50 edited photos and an 8×8 printed album.

A 25% deposit holds your date; the balance is due on the day of the session.

They do not need to. I use games and movement, and the family photos come from that. Extended sessions give more time to warm up.
