Short answer: maternity photography in South Florida generally runs from about $200 to $800 depending on session length, how many edited images you receive and how fast you get them. At The Love Pics, a 45-minute maternity session is $250 with up to 25 edited photos, and a two-hour extended session is $380 with 80+ photos. Both are delivered in under 24 hours.
Below is what actually drives that number, so you can compare quotes properly instead of guessing.
The five things that set the price
1. Session length
The single biggest factor. A 45-minute session covers you solo, you with your partner, and a handful with older children. Two hours adds outfit changes, a second location and individual portraits of each child without anyone getting rushed.
2. Number of edited images
Editing is where a photographer’s hours actually go. A package with 10 edited photos and one with 80 are different products, even at similar shoot lengths. Always ask how many fully edited images are included — not how many get taken.
3. Delivery speed
Industry standard in this area is two to four weeks. Faster turnaround usually costs more — or gets sold as a rush add-on. Worth knowing before you book, because a maternity gallery that arrives after the baby does has lost most of its purpose.
4. Print rights
Some photographers keep the rights and sell you prints. Others include full print rights so you can print anywhere. This changes your true cost significantly — a “cheaper” session that requires buying prints through the studio often ends up more expensive.
5. Travel
Some studios charge mileage past a set radius. If you’re in Wellington, Jupiter or Delray and your photographer is based elsewhere, ask directly whether travel is billed.
What the price ranges get you
| Range | Typically includes |
|---|---|
| $150–$250 | 30–45 min, 10–25 edited images, standard delivery. Often newer photographers or mini-sessions. |
| $250–$450 | 45 min–2 hours, 25–80 edited images, print rights included. Most established local photographers sit here. |
| $450–$800+ | Longer sessions, studio gowns provided, hair and makeup, albums, or maternity-plus-newborn bundles. |

Is the extended session worth $130 more?
If it’s just you and your partner and you want beautiful bump portraits, the 45-minute session is genuinely enough — it’s what most of our clients book.
The extended session earns its price in three specific situations: you have older children who need patience and breaks; you want two different looks or locations; or you’re combining maternity with family portraits before the baby arrives so you only shoot once.
Questions to ask any photographer before you pay
- How many fully edited images do I receive?
- When exactly will I get them?
- Do I get full print rights?
- Is there a travel fee to my location?
- What happens if it rains, or if the baby comes early?
- Is my partner or are my other children an extra charge?
The answers to these separate a $250 session that’s a good deal from a $250 session that isn’t.
